What you receive
You set a price per night for each room, the same whatever the length of the stay, and you may change it at any time for the next requests. You receive that price in full: our service fee, 24% of your price taxes included, is added on top and paid by the student.
For example, a room at €27 a night, for a stay of 28 nights: €756 for you.
Prices and payouts are in euros. Paid to a bank account in another currency, each payout is converted by Stripe at the rate of the day.
When the money comes
The student pays before arriving: the first period of 28 nights is charged 60 days before the arrival, the next ones 30 days before they start.
You are paid every week of the stay: each 7 nights are paid into your bank account 48 hours after they begin, by Stripe, our payment provider.
Each stay has its signed contract, on our template: you sign it as you accept the request, the student before arriving.
What to prepare
7 steps, at your own pace: everything is saved as you go. Have at hand:
- photos of each room and of the shared spaces, and a photo of the room with a code we give you, written on a sheet;
- an identity document of one adult of the household, checked online by Stripe with a selfie;
- your bank details, entered on Stripe's secure pages, and your tax details.
The checks
Our team checks your listing before it appears in the catalogue, then each change students would see. Once it is published, you receive requests; to accept one, the identity of one adult is checked first. Your profile then shows the badge "Verified".
You choose your students
Each request shows the student's first name, age, nationality, languages, diet, whether they smoke, and the purpose of their stay. You accept it or decline it.
You sign the host family charter, which says what you commit to.
Taxes and insurance
We Made Room may have to report to the tax authorities what it paid you: in the European Union, the law (DAC7) requires it every year. How this income is taxed depends on your country: ask your tax administration.
Check with your insurer that hosting a student is covered.
